Award in Conflict Resolution & Mediation at Work

This MQF Level 5 accredited programme will provide the participants with a comprehensive foundation in conflict resolution and mediation, equipping them with the necessary skills to manage workplace disputes effectively. By integrating theoretical frameworks with practical application, the programme enables participants to develop a nuanced understanding of workplace conflict, its underlying causes, and its impact on team dynamics and organisational performance.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to mediate conflicts with confidence, apply structured resolution techniques effectively, and contribute to a workplace culture that prioritises open communication, collaboration, and psychological safety.

This programme is for HR professionals, mid-level and senior managers, and team leaders who want to strengthen their ability to manage and resolve workplace conflict. Conflict in the workplace is a common challenge that can lead to stress and hinder organisational effectiveness. This programme equips participants with practical skills in mediation, conflict resolution, and understanding team dynamics, empowering them to build more collaborative and psychologically safe work environments.

Knowledge

  1. Understand theories, models, and stages of conflict resolution and structured mediation.
  2. Recognise legal, ethical, psychological, and behavioural factors influencing disputes.
  3. Evaluate resolution approaches, considering communication, power dynamics, and cultural influences.

 

Skills

  1. Detect conflicts early and apply mediation techniques such as active listening, reframing, and structured dialogue.
  2. Facilitate impartial mediation sessions, adapting communication styles to diverse environments.
  3. Provide constructive feedback and practise strategies through simulations to refine conflict resolution methods.

 

Competencies

  1. Professionally manage workplace conflicts and facilitate challenging conversations with neutrality.
  2. Apply mediation frameworks and conflict coaching to guide teams and individuals toward solutions.
  3. Promote a psychologically safe workplace culture while ensuring ethical and legal compliance.
