Election of Members to FHRD’s Board of Administrators
The election process for appointing members to the FHRD Board of Administrators for the term 2026–2029 was conducted in accordance with the established procedure and timetable.
Nomination Process
The nomination process for the election of members to the FHRD Board of Administrators for the term 2026–2029 commenced with the circulation of the nomination form to all members on 25 February 2026. The deadline for the submission of nominations was 11 March 2026. A total of nine (9) nominations were received by the closing date.
Voting Process
Online voting opened on 16 March 2026 at 09:00 hrs and remained open until 25 March 2026 at 12:00 hrs.
Each voter was entitled to submit only one vote. Members were permitted to vote for a minimum of one (1) candidate and a maximum of seven (7) candidates.
A total of 191 members were eligible to vote. Of these, 43 votes were cast, resulting in a turnout of 22.5%.
The votes obtained by each candidate are listed below, in alphabetical order:
Based on the results, the following six (6) candidates obtained the highest number of votes and are therefore elected to the FHRD Board of Administrators for the term 2026–2029:
- Debono Noel – 26 votes
- Sleiman Sherif – 26 votes
- Galea Ramona – 25 votes
- Attard Claudine – 23 votes
- Guillaumier Ediana – 22 votes
- Cacopardo Stephanie – 20 votes
A tie has arisen for the seventh and final seat between the following candidates:
- Buhagiar Michelle – 17 votes
- Mallia Loredana – 17 votes
Gatt Peter, having obtained 15 votes, is not elected.
Accordingly, six (6) members were elected through the initial election process. As a tie persisted for the seventh seat, a supplementary election was held during the General Meeting on 25 March 2026 at 15:00 hrs, in accordance with the applicable statutory procedure. Following that supplementary election, Ms Loredana Mallia was elected to fill the seventh seat.
