FHRD will be hosting their third HR FORA for 2018. During this event we will be discussing how to deal with domestic and gender based violence and also the implications for HR Practitioners.
The session will be presented by Dr. Joan Camilleri (Managing Psychologist Dept. of Health) and Mr. Karl Grech (counsellor at Victim Support Malta). The event will start with a brief overview of the various forms of domestic violence, and the impact domestic violence can have on the employees' mental health. Both the impact on the output of employees during their working hours and that of their families will be explored. Referral services which professionals can refer to will be highlighted. This will be followed by a case study which will focus on interventions which would benefit the individual dealing with a domestic violence situation. Finally, the concept of self-reflexivity and its role in burnout and turnover prevention will be discussed.
The event will be held on Wednesday 19th September, 2018, at 15:00hrs, at the FHRD's Training Centre. Parking at Tigne' Point will be available complimentary.
