2011 FHRD Seminar - Creating People Advantage
On the 27th May, FHRD organised a half day academic Seminar, entitled ‘Creating People Advantage’. This seminar was held at the Corinthia Hotel, St George’s at 2.30pm. The Foundation’s CEO spoke about the group that was most neglected during the recession – middle managers – and how this group needs to be brought back on track to sustain growth in companies. Joe Gerada also referred to the local situation in the light of the Global survey conducted in 2010.
Another presentation was delivered by Dr Mary Crow, a lecturer in HR Practices at the Centre for Labour Market Studies (University of Leicester). Her paper, entitled entitled “Leading a Learning Organisation”, focused on the continuous development of workers with particular reference to methods best adapted to middle managers.
Following this Seminar, starting at 1800hours, FHRD recognised Maltese Graduates of the Centre for Labour Market Studies for their achievement. In total, 1 Doctorate, 12 Masters, 6 BSc, 11 Diploma and 7 Certificate graduates were congratulated for their accomplishment
